Maurie has been my beekeeping mentor for 25 years. We met when I first moved to Tasmania and decided I wanted to learn beekeeping.
 
Back then, there were no beekeeping programs and he agreed to take me out to the Leatherwood forests of Tasmania's SW where I completed an apprenticeship of sorts.
 
Maurie is now in an Aged Care facility where I visit him on a Tuesday. I still keep bees on his block of land and the 2026 batch of this honey is mostly a blackberry honey -think warm and fruity and very easy to eat.
